Goals of gynecomastia
Gynecomastia is the development of excessive breast tissue in male breasts. It can occur at any age, but is more common during puberty and in older men.
Gynecomastia can be caused by hormonal imbalance, certain medications, excessive alcohol consumption, obesity, liver disease or a genetic condition.
Gynecomastia can be treated with cosmetic surgery to remove the excess mammary gland.
Gynecomastia is sometimes confused with adipomastia. Adipomastia is the presence of fat in the breast tissue that can lead to the formation of what looks like breasts, particularly in men who have lost a lot of weight and whose skin has stretched.
Gynecomastia and adipomastia can also occur simultaneously. Adipomastia can also be treated with liposuction or CoolSculpting.

Procedure for breast enlargement surgery
The first consultation
The first consultation with the surgeon is essential to diagnose gynecomastia. Usually, an ultrasound is required to identify the cause of the condition (excess fat or enlargement of the mammary gland).
In cases where gynecomastia is caused by excess breast tissue, surgery is usually the answer.
The surgical procedure
Gynecomastia correction surgery removes the excess mammary gland through a small incision made around the areola. The procedure is performed under sedation and lasts about 1h.30.
Post-operative care
After surgery, a bandage will be placed on your pectoral muscles to help reduce swelling and promote healing. You will be asked to wear a compression garment for several weeks to hold the tissues in place and minimize the risk of complications. About ten LPG Endermologie sessions are highly recommended to drain the operated area, eliminate adhesions and optimize the aesthetic result of the procedure.
